So\, we thought we would give people the opportunity to find out more about what we have to offer by holding a Volunteer Recruitment Open Day. The date is Saturday 1st March 2025 10am – 2pm. We would love to meet any one who feels they would like to become involved and give some time\, energy and expertise to help our village museum and mill have fresh ideas and contributions. \nMuch as we are open on Saturdays and Sundays for half the year\, we need volunteers on other days of the week too to help with the maintenance\, repair and upkeep\, both inside and outside. We are also looking for volunteers who can help during our special larger events which are held once a month throughout the year to assist our trustees in setting up\, running and derigging these events. \nFront of house is also an area we need more volunteers\, hosting our visitors and ensuring all visits are friendly engaging\, informative and bring to life living in a village such as Burwell\, living in a fen edge village. \nWe will be opening access to our observatory this year so if you love gazing at the stars and planets and would like to inspire and educate others into this domain the please do contact us. The telescope engineering is deemed as truly outstanding. See fabulous elderly vehicles including our 1907 Holsman\, 1962 AEC Burwell & District coach and 3 Austin 7s\,  plus visiting vehicles including : 1965 Ford Mustang\, 1987 Citroen 2CV\, 1950s Citroen Traction. \nMore vehicles being confirmed daily. The ones listed are just a few of those that have been confirmed so far. There will be around 40-50 cars plus a selection of motorbikes. \nIf you would like to bring your own classic car or bike (the older or more unusual the better) please contact us to apply for a space. One of the Trustees will then send you a short form to fill in and return. Small vintage tractors and vans are also welcome.
