DESCRIPTION:Easter Egg hunt\, windmill tours and refreshments for the whole family at our first open days of the year\nUsual Museum admission applies.\nPay at the Admission cabin on the day\, or online in advance.\n \nEaster Family Fun at Burwell Museum & Windmill. Monday 21st April\, 10am – 4pm (last admission 3pm) \nEaster Egg hunt £2\nChocolate prize for every egg hunter even if you don’t finish. (Start any time between 10am – 3pm)\n\n\n \nWindmill tours £2 per person. (Minimum height 1.1metres) Tickets from the Admission Cabin or buy them in advance with your museum admission tickets online.(see link above) \nOur Easter Bunny is having a rest this year but has arranged something new for visitors this year. All will be revealed soon! \nFacepainting. \nHot Cross Buns on sale in the tea room. \nDriving and parking\nIf driving to the museum please do not park in Mill Close unless you are a disabled badge holder. Free parking is available in the Gardiner Memorial Hall car park. Please see the Find us page for more info. \nThere are no buses serving Burwell on Sundays or Bank Holidays. \n

SUMMARY:Volunteer Recruitment Open Day
DESCRIPTION:We are looking for new volunteers to join the current teams. \nNo experience is necessary for any of our volunteer roles\, we are looking for a range of skills which will complement the volunteers we have helping us already. \nThere are opportunities for everyone and anyone to become involved\, there are no barriers to volunteering and we advocate diversity and inclusion. \n \nPeople often don’t realise that they have the skills and talents we are looking for\, our needs are diverse and accommodating to all. So\, we thought we would give people the opportunity to find out more about what we have to offer by holding a Volunteer Recruitment Open Day. The date is Saturday 1st March 2025 10am – 2pm. We would love to meet any one who feels they would like to become involved and give some time\, energy and expertise to help our village museum and mill have fresh ideas and contributions. \nMuch as we are open on Saturdays and Sundays for half the year\, we need volunteers on other days of the week too to help with the maintenance\, repair and upkeep\, both inside and outside. We are also looking for volunteers who can help during our special larger events which are held once a month throughout the year to assist our trustees in setting up\, running and derigging these events. \nFront of house is also an area we need more volunteers\, hosting our visitors and ensuring all visits are friendly engaging\, informative and bring to life living in a village such as Burwell\, living in a fen edge village. \nWe will be opening access to our observatory this year so if you love gazing at the stars and planets and would like to inspire and educate others into this domain the please do contact us. The telescope engineering is deemed as truly outstanding. We are very proud to have been the recipient of this from the estate of Barrie Bushell. \n \nThe opportunities are endless and you may be able to offer something to us which we have never thought of! You do not need to live in Burwell\, we have volunteers from far and wide across our region who join us to be a part of this unique opportunity and gain experience second to none. \nSo do come along on our open day\, or contact us via our email\, social channels or the form on the Become a Volunteer page.
