Family Activities
During the spring and summer school holidays we run a range of hands-on craft sessions for children and families, plus trails and demonstrations to keep everyone entertained.
Throughout the season we also put on a range of other activities:
EXPLORE the mill, climb right up to the top (if you're big enough to climb the ladders safely, at least 1.1m tall), find out how the sails turn and how wheat is made into flour. Grind flour in the hand querns, try out the junior hard hats and tool belts and have fun with the hands-on exhibits marked with a green hand.
DISCOVER an old-fashioned shop and schoolroom, find out how telephones operated in the days before mobiles, hop on to our school bus and practise your archaeology skills in the Roman pottery sand tray.
TEST how observant you are with our exciting mill and museum trails. Can you spot the cat and mouse, and how many bugs can you count in the wildlife boxes?
LEARN how to make all sorts of things in our holiday craft activity sessions.
