Schools
Please note that from Autumn Term 2025 we are changing our pricing structure for schools. The sessions will also be changing. This page will be updated with the new prices and session details by then.
Burwell Museum offers unique, hands-on sessions for schools studying local history, toys, transport, the Victorians, the Second World War and STEM subjects. Please download our programmes for KS1 & EYFS . We are also proud to support schools working towards Artsmark.
- Our pre-school and school workshops, self-guided visits and loans boxes are designed around the new schools curriculum. We offer half day visits of 2 hours, usually 10.00-12.00, or full day visits usually 10.00-14.00.
- Most school visits cost £2.50 per student for half days and £3.50 for full days (break time refreshments provided at an extra cost of £0.50 per student). If we are creating a bespoke visit for your class then we will charge £1 extra per child.
- We can accommodate up to 70 students for a day.
- Most activities are led by museum staff and volunteers - children will be split into groups of up to 20 and work round a carousel of activities to make the best use of our small spaces.
- If you prefer, you can book a self-guided visit (£2 per child, accompanying adults free) and lead your own group. Please email museum@burwellmuseum.org.uk to discuss your requirements.
